http://behringerwiki.music-group.com...itle=Main_Page It's dedicated to the X32 but the major differences are underlined in the XR section (see on the left menu). Of course it's not a real paper manual. Cuki

Behringer XR12 Air Digital Mixer Tips and Tricks
After spending many hours on this pedal replacement exercise, I can offer the following. If you are a solo player, doing bar gigs, don't bother. Spend your $250 on the pedal. It does as good, or better, than the mixer, with no additional investment of time. If you have to mix for a few people, and don't want to buy multiple pedals, then the XR is worth the investment of $250 AND your time. In my case, I have been working on a setup for multiple musicians. For my own solo playing, I would just take the pedal so I don't need to worry about an iPad. With the pedal, I also have the foot switches control. This exercise proves that TC Helicon does a nice job of packaging their knowledge and technology in relatively easy to use boxes. It also demonstrates that, with the knowhow, you can do most of it yourself. The benefit to me is that I gave myself a crash course in mixing vocals and acoustic guitar. Maybe one day I'll actually learn how to properly mix the rest of the band. :-)

They sell one knob, plug-and-play thing. Nothing fancy but well thought combination of FX.

Auto-updates
With all paired digital devices you need to have your mixer firmware and your remote app device on the same version. Many folks get bit by iPad auto-update.
Solution is to make certain you have gone into iTunes and TURN OFF AUTO UPDATES. Then when you set up at a gig, your gear will still link up and perform as expected.

again the main drawback of this thing is the dependence on the tablet (iOS, app, Availability...)
After sometime, you may spend more time to make it work than making music...that's why I hesitate so much to go for it... There was a post today about the AER domino3 usb software... That runs on Windows 3.1 and was not updates since... I mean AER does not have that many product to support... What happens in two years if Apple changes iOS and behringer decides it is not worth to update the app... That's one good thing about the soundcraft ui series. It uses standard html 5 webpage as app. Too bad the preamps are weak and noisy...

I agree with that sentiment. I was surprised that they didn't use HTML5. Especially considering they are using Ethernet and IP to connect. All the other control hardware I deal with these days uses this approach. Maybe they can provide firmware with in interface eventually. With the number of app updates, for 5 platforms, they've reportedly done, I'm sure they won't make the same mistake twice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I've ordered an xr16....seems there's a few of us going this route.
Great idea to start a thread where we can share our learning. I don't suppose you could post the eq settings for the body Rez? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don't want to post publicly because it's TCs material and I feel a little sheepish. When you get it, PM me and I'll help you. It will also depend on your guitar. The TC setting end up being a starting point. Your ears would have to do the fine tuning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Yes I was thinking that after I typed it. I use the TC Helicon Mic Mechanic. Only for a bit of delay and the easy button. I don't like what pitch correct does to the subtitles of my voice. It's the "easy button" I'd like to understand more. Again as a general eq guideline and tweak from there. Not sure I can get that info though. There is a USB hub on the pedal and I think you can deeper edit with it on a computer so maybe I can find out more. I don't wish to steal their exact algorithms but to simply use it as reference as I'm not schooled in eq to that extent. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Exactly. To that extent, since you have the equipment, I think we can help each other. The TC Play Acoustic does not give parameters for the voice. So, I had to research and apply my own curves. Maybe you can get data for vocals and I'll share guitar, which is sorted out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
