Hi John,

I know I'd like a Style A Deluxe 00, OM or dreadnought with red spruce top and BRW back and sides. And I really like the burst on your SJ.

That's pretty much it for now. The build is way too far for me to start obsessing about it...

I've attached a few of Kim's pics of my Walker. Had it a few years now.

Definitely a master at guitar building. My Walker lives in Dadgad. I find his guitars more modern than vintage. There is a musicality to the tone of the base strings that is mesmerizing to listen to. A constant pleasure to play. And a very nice contrast to my Franklin. Both outstanding guitars. The Walker has powerful projection and more focused base, the Franklin, slightly softer, more angelic trebles, slightly less focused base, but equally impressive base and brilliant dynamics.

Sounds like the get together at Kims will be a blast. Have a wonderful time. Would love to see a bit of it recorded, but it would be so hard to capture what you hear - live.

Stuart

I just saw this post...... definitely enjoyed reading the feedback. I myself am hoping to find one in a yardsale for $50.00...

I remember being at the guitar show @ Five Towns College on Long Island back in the early 90's. I played a style 0 in Braz/adi from Kim. He wanted 8K and I thought wow who is this guy? whats he been sipping....lolol hindsight 20/20... a friend of mine was a bit wiser and bought the one and only "Black Tie" arch top Kim had on display.

Stuart,

Every time I see that gorgeous Walker of yours, I regret not stealing it from Kim's shop when I had the chance!

I'll report back on the WalkerFest!

The one Walker I played was one of the few instruments that forced a smile on my face. I felt the magic that people speak of with his guitars. Definitely a more modern sounding guitar than I expected. Really smooth and refined...

If the website at Luthiers Collection is up to date, he has 5 Walker guitars available for sale now.

Unless I find a guitar in mint condition with the exact specs that I want, I'd rather wait. I'm in no hurry, I've got other guitars to play...

Have you learned yet of Kim's request that all guitars remain in standard tuning? Perhaps you'd better hope for sunshine!

See you tomorrow.

John
