Default Using a Tablet for Backing tracks?

I use a loop pedal live and sometimes for recording my own backing tracks for live use.
To save card space on my loop pedal, I'd like to use a device to store my tracks, select and play them. Is a typical android type Tablet (not I-pad) a good choice?
I appreciate any help,
Vance

if you would consider an iPad there's a very good application called OnSong. Friends who've converted to it also rave about it. It's not available on android based tablets.

I record my Back-ups with my DigiTech JamMan Looper,Phraser, Sampler.
It has 3 inputs(one being XLR) I can send Mixed signals throught the pedal or unbalanced straight through. Not the best I suppose, but it's very clean. It records to an SD card which I transfer as MP3 files to my PC.

hi Vance
You need to do some research. Which looper are you using?

Finding a tablet with enough memory to store all the loops is important. Then finding an app to run the tracks would be key.

The process to transfer the loops from the pedal to the tablet is paramount. How to get the loops from the looper to the tablet is the issue. If the process breaks down at any point, you don't have a solution.

I owned a looper which allowed USB storage of loops to a computer (not a tablet), but not in a format any app on my tablet could access, read, or play (the file format was proprietary to the looper).

Hope you find a solution.

:UPDATE:
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tablet-A
Allows me to transfer all my backing tracks on the Hard drive plus it has a 16GB micro SD card for more / removable storage. On sale at Best Buy 129$

My Looper is DigiTech JamMan Looper,Phraser, Sampler.

I have an android tablet but its old and the volume is pretty low. What I'm now using is my android phone and a blue tooth speaker. The speaker is a stealth360 and has an advertised output of 20 watts. I've never used it at full volume. I got mine from Amazon, and think it was around $20.

There are a number of free utilities that will let you change file formats if they're not already in MP3 format.

Bit late on this subject. I use Setlist helper to show my lyrics and play the Mp3 backing tracks on my Samsung Tablet 3
