Default Best Parlour guitar under $1,000

I’m just a curious....What are the best parlour guitars in the market under $1,000. Well... Let me rephrase my question - what would be the best parlour guitars under $1,000 for YOU?

Any thoughts?

Wildwood Music has a new Larrivee P-03 Custom (Italian Alpine Spruce & Zebrawood listed for $998.00. That’s close to $1,000.00.

I have 2 that I am very happy with.
An Alvarez MPA66shb all solid mahogany woods. $740
A Pono O - all solid cedar/acacia - on sale for $770.
These are great small guitars. Very playable with no boxiness.
Larrivee also makes a nice parlor.

Best,
Jayne

Throw in an extra $40 and you can get this, shipping is FREE

And here is what it sounds like- gotta love the impervious nature of this guitar and sound even if you aren't into the looks

That would be an easy one for me, an Eastman E10P. Normal street price is a bit more, but well worth it. My second choice would be the guitar Eric Schoenberg designed, and calls the "Shanghai Schoenberg" the Recording King RP1-626. Both have excellent vintage tone, and both are head and shoulders above anything in their price range.

I have that combo in an L body and it's spectacular in the tone department.

For me, a used Larrivee P-03R or maybe P-03W.

If wildwood were to obtain one in Cedar/Walnut I would be very tempted as well. Personally not a fan of Italian tops. I have one on my Forum III and it's just to direct and percussive for my taste.

My next parlor will almost certainly be a Rainsong CH-PA though.

To me, the Washburn 314K parlor guitar. This is a demo that Washburn did of it. For me personally, it is enough of a keeper that in my quest of downsizing to just 2 guitars, it is staying https://youtu.be/3LDITT2GHuk

+1 on a Larrivee Parlor. I have one and it's wonderful-sounding!

I think I'd get an X7 Emerald.

That Recording King RP1-626C looks like the winner. 20 minutes playing a 12-fret, and you want a cutaway.

If one were in LA, NYC, Nashville, Chicago, or maybe Austin, all the suggested guitars could be tried out in one store, but otherwise you gotta take a leap of faith.

Me, I wouldn't do it. For half your budget you can get an Ibanez AVN2-OPN all-solid mahogany 12-fret parlor. A really beautiful guitar with a body depth of 5 inches at the base. Fabulous projection.

Emerald X7 would be my call as well. Eastman and Pono as runner-ups.

I bought a Republic Miniolian reso a while back. If ya want small and *loud*, that is the way to go. It works very nicely with nylon strings as well as steel. With your budget I would go for the metal body version, as mine had some issues with the wood soundwell.

Good Call Ted on the Schoenberg Parlor. I have the RK RP1-326 Schoenberg model with Adi top, Khaya b & s. A lot of nice vintage appointments, Beautiful tone. I think they were replaced by the RP1-626, a great little parlor in it's own right.
