Default Soundseat Update

After a recent thread about challenges in communication with the Sound Seat folks I wanted to share the following. I had spoken to Lois in September and we put together a spec for a chair for me. I then didn't act on it until 9 days ago when I placed my order with Bretta. She said 3+ weeks if they had the seat color I wanted or 5-6 weeks if they had to order the seat. Well, I just got a FedEx notice that it will arrive Saturday! Great service!!

It’s nice to hear that Soundseat (and Bretta and Lois) are still going strong. Enjoy the seat.

Now that our grand piano has sold and been moved, I need to order another Sound Seat. My living room will then include two Sound Seats and one Pik-n-Glider, plus a Rok-n-Sok bar stool - and some conventional dining table chairs. Of all those options, Sound Seat is my first choice, and a second one will leave us seating for several guitar players plus a few audience members (spouses) on the sofas.

That other thread was initiated by a person from overseas (France or Belgium?). As a very small family business building each seat to order, I can see how they are not giving international business a high priority. Shipping, communication, and payment "across the pond" can be a big challenge (I have the same issues with my small business). Further, I suspect that Sound Seat is selling every chair domestically that they can comfortably build. Sorry for that original poster. Bretta was a delight to deal with about 18 months ago, and I will be ordering again soon. I can only say really good things about the product and the company. Five stars!

You do have to call and leave a message telling them that you are ready to buy, and they will get back to you in a few days to finalize the order details and walk you through the options. It seems atypical for them to pick up the phone the first time.

After a year of enjoying mine, count me as another very satisfied customer. Bretta and Lois were great to work with. They seem to have mastered the under-promise and over-deliver approach when it comes to timing, since mine was delivered around a week and a half before their promised delivery date.

I use mine as a full time office chair, and remove the arms and jack up the height (might take 30 seconds in all) when I play. The foot ring is a really nice addition as well.

Enjoy your new seat.
