Living here in the Southeast, I see Aromatic Cedar all the time...in fact, I used it in a large cedar chest that I built for a customer last Fall...but I can't say that I've ever seen it used for a guitar soundboard. I'm intrigued, and looking forward to hearing what it sounds like.

I got it from a very large board- about 2 feet wide, cut from the center of the tree-so it was quarter sawn on either side of the pith

I am excited to hear it. It has a nice tap to it.

Wow. Some really beautiful stuff there.

Are your Stella 12's Ladder braced?

I have been trying to get some red cedar like that - but the trees just aren't right for it.... So often - it's branches everywhere and lumpy, bumpy, twisty trees...

Thanks.

It was rare to find such a clear piece of that cedar.
I got 8 sets out of it.

Yes, the Stella 12's (and 6's) are traditionally ladder braced.

I also am making a Regal style that is ladder braced, but it has 4 braces as opposed to the Stella which has 3 braces.
