Naw... I never met a chord I didn't like!!!
Now, there are more than a couple that are difficult to finger for any length of time, certainly... although there are usually more than a couple "workarounds", three and four note voicings that are easier to handle... The first time I tried a bunch of maj 9 chords, (with the 9 in the middle) a la Steely Dan's vaunted "Mu major" voicings, I just about broke my fretting hand!!! But, I love that sound...

Yikes!

Still gives me fits, though; for all the years I've been "practicing it", I still can't seem to just "pop" right to it, it takes more time to configure than any other chord I've played... Problem is, it comes in darned handy at times, and I do love the voicing... so I persist!

No particular chord in isolation. Some chord changes cause issues above certain tempos.
For example one I use now and than that can be hit or miss for accuracy: x3x013 -> x3x565

add 9 chords, barre versions, down the neck :
F add9 : 135211 Fm add9 :135111 any 6/9 #11 up the neck (like G6/9 #11) : x10 9 9 10 9 or 9#11 up the neck (G9#11) : x 10 9 10 10 9 these 4 strings barres up the neck with 2 or 3 fingers just on the other side of the frets...awful ! |

Ewe, that's disgusting! Respect! I can't reach that at all.
I'm sticking with my dainty little xx3213.

What a loaded question!
I've never met a chord I didn't like...But I've met some situations where some were not appropriate. Tough to finger? Too bad...figure out a new fingering. Playing guitar IS NOT EASY. Neither is "listening" to what the moment needs (I am guilty of this). I find tremendous distaste in the Nike logo "Just do it." But by jiminy I think it is an awe inspiring statement. There are no bad or difficult or distasteful chords. [period] Think about it and then "Just Do It". Why the hell not? Or "I'll see you out on the seventh green". D |

There are work-arounds for chords you don't like to finger or for those that just don't sound right, and it's usually a question of context. A first position D7 might not sound right in a jazz context but be exactly what you need in a country context. Also, often certain fingerings might be unwieldy in the context of what comes before or is coming after or how much time there is to execute, and an alternate fingering must be found.
That's what makes this fun. |

I once told my first guitar teacher when I was a child, how I hated a particular song he wanted me to learn. I asked him, how can I play a song I hate? Followed with the question: "How can you play a song you hate?" I'll never forget his reply. "I'm like Jesus. I love them all." That's how I feel about chords

I have a love/hate relationship with Bb9, which is: 1 1 0 1 1 1 (using the thumb to wrap onto the 5th and 6th strings). It's not complicated, but my big hand just gets wrapped up between the neck, nut, and headstock.
But it's a pretty sounding chord, particularly on the chorus to Oasis' "Let There Be Love."

B7 chord, open position. Not very fond of it.

Don't you play no ugly chord.
I don't have one but then again you won't find me playing any jazz shapes, either. All the Major/Minor/Barre shapes are yesterday's victories at this point. The open A shape was a challenge in my beginning phase but when I learned to place the half-barre with my index finger (cleanly and quickly) the world breathed a sigh of relief. |

YES! That is exactly what I think! G7 is ugly. Also overly twangy, whiney, melodramatic, cloying
Glad I ain't the Lone Ranger on this!
