Attention All Fishman Platinum Pro Owners
The Fishman Platinum Pro is a great little D.I. / EQ. It is lightweight and small with the built-in tuner feature which also works as a mute switch when engaged. Fishman makes the Stage Pro which is designed to wear, but the features are limited and I always thought having a patch chord hanging off me would be a pain.
I looked everywhere for a stand I could use to elevate the Platinum Pro and when I couldn't find anything, I designed one and my grandson built it for me. It makes perfect sense to me and allows immediate access during a live performance for EQ tweaks and tuning without having to bend down to the floor. It is easily accessible whether standing or seated. It is light in weight and stable and was designed to accomodate all the patch chords. What do you guys think?

Apparently, either I over-estimated the number of folks with this Fishman product or the need for the stand.

I don't have a Fishman Platinum Pro, but I think your grandson is a talented guy.

I don't have one but when I eventually get a proper DI/EQ it's the one I'm planning on getting. The stand is a great idea. I'll probably make one myself when the time comes.

Thanks guys. He is very proud of what he did and I am proud of him.
We are considering building them for others.

Companies like Fishman aren't into selling accessories. They could have easily come up with something themselves if they wanted to and done it cheaper and maybe better. Besides, then they might not sell as many Stage Pro's an I'm pretty confident their margins are pretty high on those.

Nice stand. I like mine on the floor though as I tend to use the boost and tuner a great deal. I think Fishman could have done a better job with the control knobs as they are not the most ergonomic or easy to read in a dark environment.

Hi,
guess it looks funny to use the footswitches i.e. to boost while playing... cu erniecaster

For the most part the EQ should be kind of set and forget with maybe a minor occasional tweak. Tuning is something you want readily available. For the most part my two main guitars don't have volume controls so I use the boost for solos or level adjustment. As of late and I'm using an optical compressor for solos and the Fishman boost to change levels. I think for Fishman to embrace the stand concept that would have provided a remote jack for the the two foot switch functions. There is also the power supply to consider since I use mine on a pedal board with a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power.
In the end everyone probably has a different approach and or needs. |

hotdog, I meant to comment on this. It is a cool stand.
I have the Stage version and went with that because it has essentially the same features of the Pro but without the things I won't need anyway. I like the Stage better for my needs, but I like a simple set up and it is far superior sounding than a standard DI and that can be phantom powered. The Stage fits the bill- I haven't tried to clip it to my hip, only have used it on the floor.

I think it's really cool that you and your grandson collaborated on something like this!!! I myself have the Fishman aura spectrum DI which is about the same size but I keep it on my pedal board... here lately I've been using a modified solid music stand to sit the board within reach...
