Timmypack,Im not ssure what its name is (maybe drickard covered it) but when I go from emaj or eminor to g I use 2xx2xx.I always think of it as the second chord in "a horse with no name"

I remain theoretically challenged

the bat....

Hi Tim: How much room do you have to do the modulation; one measure? two? That will make a difference in the chords you choose. If you have two measures, it is easy to make a smooth change. If you have only one, you can still squeeze in two transition chords. If you have to change in the middle of a measure, it won't be as smooth, but it won't be there as long, either, so it won't be so noticeable.

ok I can't resist, to go from the key of E to the key of G you can use the five chord of G which is a D , but put an F# in the Bass as that is the passing chord from E to B . Let me go see if it works.

be right back.

Ok it works for me but sounds like s***! LOL

That one does sound good with the G going down to the E. I mean it works both way just sounds better backward. Now I
am going back to sleep .
