Thank you! I was only asking because I'm just a few months behind you and am getting the same binding. At first I wasn't on board, but after seeing yours I'm loving it. Can't wait to see this one finish!

John has a great, refined-yet-restrained, aesthetic sense. He suggested the black plastic binding and, though it is not something I would have necessarily chosen, it was of course an excellent choice. I think it brings out and frames the woods beautifully.

My experience exactly! Mine is ziricote back and sides and he suggested black plastic. Not usually my thing but I more than trust John. After seeing yours I’m having no second thoughts. Don’t want to hijack this thread. Can’t wait to see more pictures of this one. The wood is insane.

What a spectacular back! The aesthetics of this one are right on.
What finish will you be getting on this one?

John only uses nitro lacquer. No catalyzed synthetics. He feels that he gets the best sound when he keeps the finish very thin and only uses nitro lacquer. He adds "other builders use other products with great results, but for the sound I am after, this works best for me😁"

Good gravy. That wood is looking really great under finish. I think it goes without saying that I’m a Circa super fan. This guitar should really ring your bell.
