Default Bridge pin size and sanding question

I got my hands on some beautiful bone bridge pins. Double inlay of ebony and MOP. They are 2A but my guitar takes 1. I sanded them down to fit perfect. They have added noticeable sustain. My question is can any harm come from using 2A pins in a 1 slot even if sanded to fit?

No, not at all.

If they are sanded to fit, then they fit fine.

They sound interesting. Post a picture.
