The shimmer in the Koa is so deep, it's almost like you could pass into the next universe in there.
The lyre headstock is an inspired design. Some of the cleanest craftsmanship I've ever seen. The most elegant unity of design of this guitar; every part of it in agreement with the whole.

Gorgeous photography too. I get the sense that you bring this same deft touch to everything you do.

When's the coffee table book coming out? I'm serious, because I want a signed copy.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the great comments! I got some time in on this one today.
I have the neck attached and the headstock set up. Here are some more pics;

I installed the Knilling geared tuners. I'm using their newer ones with Ebony wood buttons. These tuners have an internal gear set up that allows a 4 to 1 turning ratio. I know that doesn't compare to a Gotoh 510 with a 21 to 1 ratio, but they have a good positive turning force that doesn't skip or slip. Also, the tension is adjustable by pushing in or pulling out while turning the Ebony button (similar to a regular tuning peg).

These tuners don't require the flat sides that typical open headstock tuners do which just opens the door for some new designs!
You can probably tell I really like these things. The one drawback is they really won't handle the tension of steelstring guitars.

Thanks for following along!
Mark

Default Coffee table book

Cminor7sus4 I am not sure Mark took your idea seriously.

I would kick in to help offset the cost of a really nice coffee table book. I have absolutely no idea as to what it would cost to put one together and have it printed. Maybe if we are lucky one of our members is in the printing business and could provide some rough numbers.

Thanks for your and other's interest in a photo book. I have a way you can easily put together a book if you are interested. I create a Flickr photo set for most of the guitars I build and I offer the link to anyone who is interested. I try to eliminate any restrictions on the sets so anyone can download any size file up to the original.
Also, Flickr is set up with Snapfish so you can easily arrange and create a photo book or poster etc and have it printed, bound, and sent to you.
So if anyone is interested in getting any of the sets on the guitars you see me post pictures of just ask and I'll send you the link or links.

Hope That Helps!
Mark

I saw this guitar in person today. It's even nice than the pics. Mark's guitars are super light as well. I will post a more detailed report when I am not on my cell phone. It was great meeting you Mark.
