I have that same studio, except for the knobs. I'm assuming you put them on yourself? They look great!

That's a real beauty. Interesting location for the extra switch. What does it do? Do you ever toggle it on accident while playing?

I like Gibby electrics. Here are a couple of mine:
Wine Red 1960 Classic and a LP Studio Professional Plus (GA 20RVT amp) 12 String Traditional: ES-359 Custom Shop: Lots of fun! I like Gibson basses too. |

Growler (^), just some amazing pics and guitars! Tell me about the Les Paul 12 string. I'm not aware of them. What kind of pickups? Was it a special order or did you see it in a store?

1975 LP Standard. I had it for 26 years. Sold it in 2003 because I never played it.

My 1973 Les Paul Custom. First decent guitar I ever owned. Bought it when I was 18... gigged it a LOT through the 70's and 80's. Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and Dimarzio PAF in the neck. Still have it.

My 79 LP Std that I got in 79. This was my main workhorse of a guitar when I was playing nightly for a living. Upgrades include Timbucker pickups and RS pots and caps. After all these years, its time for new frets. The bidge is also collpasing again. Going to a Callaham unit so I should never encouter that again.

'57 Classics in both positions., a plus wih more windings in the bridge. Really nice. It was a special run. I special ordered it from GC sight unseen, unplayed as I had no choice since they were rare. I've never seen another one. Absolutely love it. Last edited by The Growler; 10-31-2014 at 01:43 PM. |

Well, I got bored and cleaned out my parts bin today. Found the original PAF style pickups from my Eastman I forgot I kept and dropped them in my Les Paul. Nice change! I think I'll get another set of Seth Lovers and keep the LP after all. She sounds really nice now.

I paid $350 for this one in 1985. Did I pay too much?

Gibson made a run of these a couple years ago. I've seen quite a few of the Black ones followed by a couple of the Sunburst. Never seen a goldtop one yet.If only they came with a bridge that had adjustable saddles for each string instead of by the pair. Sweet!

My gut feeling was '57 classics. You've got a collector's item, Growler. I've never seen one before.
