Picked up a NEW T3/B with an insanely flamed top. Will be installing the Lollartons and picking it up sometime around the end of the week or next weekend.

I often ogle the T3 and go through the shall-I-shan't-I routine. For those that have one, how do you think it holds up against other electric guitars you've played?

Pros: Good action, versatile tones, can be pretty, price is pretty nice, tone circuit is pretty cool.
Cons: Only has 21 frets instead of 22, very wide body, might be nice if it had 2 vol and 2 tones, the HD pickups are a little on the modern side (other pickups available), pickups are a little closer together than a normal 2 hum bucker guitar, fretboard radius is flat (if that's not your thing). Despite the neck pickup placement, it doesn't seem to have lost too much depth. I dig them enough to have 2. If'n I had more dough, I'd consider a 3rd for some sort of P90 type pickup. |

Liked the idea of the T5 but less than 10 of these were made. Love the abalone around all the edges and a strip down the center.

15" radius, but not nearly as wide.

Thanks, just curious. Enjoying my T3 but I don't really know better since it is my first electric.

Taylor also offers "vintage" Alnico Humbucker pickups as an alternate to the stock "full size" Humbucker pickups. Anyone have an opinion on one versus the other?
I don't want to get overwhelmed by all the choices I have at this point and I'd like to see if I can emulate or model the more popular electric guitars that it seems many acoustic players like on this forum with the stock pickups and my Fender amp (see my separate post). Fun stuff for equipment geeks!

I have the full sized vintage alnicos in mine. Not sure what are in my next one. If they're HD pickups, I might keep them around since they have quick connects. Neat idea, although swapping pickups isn't exactly the fastest process, especially compared to grabbing something different.

Just dropped off the Lollartrons at the shop. Should have it by the end of next week or so, which is fine since I won't have any time to play it until about that time.

My T5 spruce topped black burst- very dark, hard to see the burst-
I finally found John Pearse electric 11's and the guitar has really found its voice with them. I'm loving this, my second T5.

My new T3/B is still in the shop. Might get done tomorrow. Hoping the Lollartrons jive with the tone circuit.

Lollartrons not compatible with Taylor tone circuit. Might have to try a Stellartone.

To all you T5 lovers out there, anyone have a 12 string? What is your impression of those, and what is the neck width? Is it 1-7/8" or smaller? I am looking for smaller...thanks in advance for the advice!
