Looking to get my first archtop under $1000, but the string spacing at the bridge seems so narrow on a lot of them. I was hoping to find 2 3/16...is it out there?

Unlikely...standard archtop string spacing is 2-1/16". 2-1/8" is considered wide string spacing.
