Default Guitar In The Corner...

...this weekend, before putting up the family Christmas tree in the corner of the room, I took the opportunity to take some photographs and do a little recording.

So, here's my sunburst Guild F-30, which I bought new nearly 40 years ago, in London's Shaftesbury Avenue - and the song, which features the Guild, is Willie Nelson and Buddy Cannon's,"Guitar In The Corner"...

Very nicely played and sung! I am a fan of Guild guitars...I have a sunburst F512 that is an absolute pleasure to play and hear. If your F30 is 40 years old then it was probably from the Westerly, RI factory. IMHO, those were some of the best guitars Guild built!!

Default Thank you...

...and yes, Bob, the guitar started life in Westerly, Rhode Island.

It has been a constant companion all these years. I have tried to look after it, but, like me, it has suffered a few little bumps and scratches along the way...

...thank you, delaorden9; I try to keep the Guild looking nice, though it hasn't had so many battles to fight as Willie Nelson's guitar...

With a dedication like that I have know......do you have a name for the guild?

...well, Mbroady, not really.

For a long time it was the only instrument that I owned, so it was just, "My Guitar".

After I started accumulating a few more, I suppose it gradually became, "My Guild".

If I ever manage to have a room full of fine acoustic guitars, then I guess I may have to get more specific with names, but for now that'll have to do.

Name, or no name though, I'm still kind of attached to it...
