Smile AGF Showcase of Talent, December 2014: Songs about winter and the holidays

Alright boys and girls, start dusting off that Christmas sheet music! It's time for the December SOT, which will focus on the Holidays or winter in general. We have a great list of prizes for this month and will draw a name for each prize. Plus, multiple entries means multiple chances to win (only one prize per person).

As with all previous SOTs, this is not a competition. We would like to see entries from beginners to experts. All you have to do is record yourself (video or sound file is fine) and upload it to this thread. It cannot be a recording of someone else, and it has to include the acoustic guitar. You can have accompaniment if you'd like, but make sure the acoustic guitar is prominent. At the beginning of January I will draw a name for each prize from all entrants.

Nobody here is judging anyone else. It doesn't matter if you are an absolute beginner (me) or can't play a lead (me), it's all in good fun. I love seeing/hearing new takes on an old song! We also love originals! You can sing or play instrumental. You can finger pick, hybrid pick, flat pick, strum, or whatever floats your boat. Bluegrass, blues, jazz, pop, etc. really doesn't matter. Just have some fun!

Prizes:
1) $50 gift card (donated by an anonymous forum member)
2) Member 815C is donating Christmas acoustic guitar/cello CD and a copy of the accompanying notation/TAB book (see: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/we...gs/id938948951)
3) A gift bag with three assorted sets of Martin strings, a Snark tuner, and a Taylor or Martin t-shirt donated by Ted at LA Guitar Sales
4) A Toby Walker CD donated by the MAN, Toby Walker, himself.
5) A one year charter membership to AGF courtesy of the AGF administration and specifically Jeremy.

I hope to see a lot of entries this month. Let's see what everyone can do!

Todd

I'm in with a duplicate from last month but I'll record a couple more. Happy Holidays everyone!

Love them both! Great job guys!

I'm a huge fan of the Christmas season so I can't wait to hear everyone's entries.

Kinda sullen considering the holiday is once again upon us but it tells how I came to live in Florida, which was a win for me.

Here's my arrangement of Wexford Carol played by me on our Martin 000-15.

(No, that's not the guitar in the photo...I didn't have a photo of the Martin when I posted this and needed something in the video track!)

Default Jingle Bells

Jingle Bells is an old time winter song that is fun to play and sing with winter loving folks of all ages. Our rendition includes verses not often heard in standard recordings. We hope you enjoy it!
