Default Is the UltraSound AG15 still the small amp fav?

Good morning all!

I have a few gift cards burning a hole in my pocket and am about to head out the door to GC !

I have picked up playing acoustics again mainly to help out my daughter that is starting to play and sing for fun (she just started playing the 3 song open mic nights).

We have a nice small collection of "affordables", and a keep them all out on stands and accessable so they all get played often. I mostly play downstairs in the dining room (also my home office) and would like to plug in once in a while. So I am looking for a nice small amp with a good sound.

Based on numerous comments on this and other forums, it appears the UltraSound AG15 seems to be the favorite for a small acoustic amp. Any others I should consider?

GC did not have any in stock, so I just ordered one from Amazon. I figured if you folks liked it, it was worth the gamble.

Thanks for the vote of confidence Larry, I am looking forward to having something like this to piddle with. I tried some of our acoustics on my old Lab Series 5, but its a bit too much for a small room. So this should do the trick, and I was able to pay for most of it with Amazon gift cards!

Hi rl...

I bought this to use for rehearsals, and small venues like nursing homes, and a meeting where I lead singing monthly for a group of about 25 people.

It surprised me how much output it has, and have actually used it for a live gig in a coffee house where we also had a PA. The amp sat behind me on an X-stand up about 30'' off the ground. It was a perfect stage monitor not only for me but for the other two players as well (they being able to hear me better).

And, I've been using it at church on our Worship Team for the past 2 months as my stage monitor. I split a signal off the preamp - one way to the board and the other way to the AG-15. It's been really pleasingly good.

I use it's big brothers (AG-50) for my main gigging amps.

Have you any idea what piddling means on this side of the pond?

Boy am I impressed with this little amp! I found a decent stand ($19) and after a few mods, I have a great small rig for the dining room, where I play the most often. My daughter and I will really enjoy this gem for several years. I will probably get her one as well when she goes off to college.

Hey Yrksman (I'm assuming you're a Yorkshireman), On this side of the pond "piddle" is usually what your dog does on your good carpet!... but, every part of the country here uses different slang... I'm from New York, and I might have said diddle. Anyone else have any thoughts (or words) on this?
