Learning guitar apps and websites.
What are some good iPad or iMac apps or websites for learning to play guitar?
I've been using the riffstation website to learn to play songs but are there any others like this or similar apps etc that help with learning to play Guitar? |

I started learning in January and found Tony Polecastro's free YouTube series to be very helpful. He provides videos and free downloads of tabs. Each set of lessons is broken down into small parts.
I started with the beginner course and then moved on to the fingerstyle series. |

The website is pretty much just a portal for his paid material and community. Did you click on the links for the courses?
I'm on the waitlist as well, but in the meantime have gotten a lot out of his free YouTube channel. I started in January not even knowing how to properly fret a guitar and can now play a simplified version of Freight Train (fingerstyle) and am able to do picking for basic tabs. |

I was happy with justinguitar's beginner course. I feel it gave me the knowledge to go on and play genres I like.

Thanks guys will check out some of those links. I find riffstation good to be able to play along to the songs.
Has anyone used the Fender play app? I would pay for it if I thought it was any good. |

I'm just starting out but Guitartricks.com was recommended to me and so far I like it. There is some free stuff but you get full access for $20 a month. To me it's worth the price.

Prior to the Internet, we got together with friends, our guitars and a case of beer.

A lot of songs I'm learning to play are from Justin Guitar, Papastache, Marty Schwarz and Countrysongteacher. They all have fantastic YouTube channels and between them all have a heap of different song titles.

Just been checking out Anytune. It's great for learning to play your own songs.
