Introduced by Bill Cosby no less....how times change.

I LOVE Steely Dan, my two all time favorites are "My Old School" and Reelin' in the Years".

To me they are a musicians band, Fagen and Becker always get great players in the band, sophisticated jazz/rock with great guitar parts.........

That was great! Being a jazz fan, I loved their jazz/rock feel. I think I had their first 7 albums... probably liked "Pretzel Logic" and "The Royal Scam" the best. This video will make me pull their stuff out today and listen again...

Big Steely Dan fan here as well. And the Midnight Special, that was a classic show for the time. Had almost everybody who was anybody back then on.

Everton, I'm also a Doobie Brothers fan but Baxter was a founding member of Steely Dan he didn't join the Doobs until somewhere around their fourth or fifth album.

Perhaps "Skunk Baxter of the Defense Department" might sum it up better...

The guy in the green on vocals looks like Weird Al's Dad.

Jeff Baxter is the GOAT!

That is actually David Palmer who went on to write the hit song for Carole King (Jazzman).

Yep - Loved it

Midnight Special show was very cool. This was my first introduction to seeing live shows .. I remember, as a young teenager, staying up late on Friday nights with my older brothers. They'd sneak outside for a few and then would come back reeking of pot smoke. Good times...
