Default A 'guitar lesson/song' in alternating bass and melody by Toby Walker

Sometimes I enjoy describing to the audience exactly what my hands are doing as I'm fingerpicking the guitar. Here's one of those moments captured in concert.

That performance was FUN to watch and listen to. I bet your concerts are appealing to non-guitarists as well as guitar layers alike. You are clearly enjoying yourself, and taking the audience with you. Well done!

Thanks Tony. I try to remember that not everyone in the audience is a guitar player, so it's important to include those folks as well.

That was fun, Toby.

Interesting... Talking while playing is kind of like doing talking blues, kind of like the "Talking Candy Bar Blues" that Noel Paul Stookey did 40 or 50 years ago. It does take a little practice, though. You do it well!

Then again, singing while you are playing also takes practice. Seems like I read that BB King never did learn to sing and play at the same time, so it goes to show you that not everyone learns to do it.

You really had that audience in your hands there, Toby. Very cool to see!
