In many parts of the USA "in" and "en" are pronounced the same. A writing utensil is a "pin" and an sharp metal object is a "pin".

In New Zealand that would be pronounced 'Unjoy'.
Fish is 'fush' and chips are 'chups'.

Here in the Tropical Tip (close to Mexico), it is often pronounced "ayn-yoy." If someone says that (or any other pronunciation of that word) to me (as we often hear in a restuarant), I say, "Thank you!"

It's a good thing.

Huh? Do we ???

Not in my part of the UK.

I see that Silurian is based in the great nation of Wales, which has, I have to say, the most beautiful range of accents in the British Isles, and in the other three nations we have some delightful ones and some appalling ones, but we do have an enormous range of accents altogether so it may well be that some mispronounce this word.

There are probably more accents of the English (En-glish, not Inglish) in the British Isles than the whole of North America which has taken much of its pronunciation, from British regions in differing amounts.

There are of course, many other accents in the many ex members of our great Empire.

Many Iccents in Sith Ifrica and Niw Zilind don't seem to bother with the "e" at all.
