Smile Gorgeous!

I was just about to write the same thing. I want that side sound port on my next guitar!

The guitar is spectacular looking. I can't wait to see the shots after finish.

Seriously, every one of your guitars are stunning.
Thanks Rob,

We've got a build coming up for you in December that I think will be absolutely beautiful (even if I do say so myself)

Well we've cleared the deck. I did run into some overtime on this Cocobolo guitar, there was just a lot to do on this one.

Thanks,
Mark

Very pretty Mark. Wish I could build with Coco, but I'm starting to itch just looking at it...

Thanks Fazool and John,

I was very slow to accept the idea of a sound port. I even referred to them as PEOs (Plectrum Extraction Orifices). But I finally got it when a customer asked that I put one in on a finished small jumbo and ,well, I had to admit that guitar sounded better with a sound port.
The Celtic triquetra was a specific request from my client. I just had to figure out how to do it. I ended up doing most of the work on my drill press;

It's a large sound port, so to help accommodate it I made the sound hole a little smaller, I extended the fretboard a little further over the sound hole, plus I made this guitar deeper than I usually do.
Now I suppose those pieces going across the center would probably interfere with getting a pick out!

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks Hanns,

Sorry to hear that. I worry about it myself and sometimes wonder if I should even add more of it to my inventory. It's like you're just waiting for that first itch.

I wondered how you did that - cool idea to build it separately and then "inlay" it!!

I'll never own another guitar without a port......

Default Finish is on

I just got Josie back from the finisher. The colors and figure in the Cocobolo and Koa really pop now and the abalone really does sparkle!
Here are some shots of the body;

I'll have some full pictures as I get the guitar assembled and do the initial set up next week.

Thanks for checking it out!
