I love it in the body, but don't care for it on the headstock. I't too busy IMHO in that location. Maybe as an inlay for a headstock logo?

Default Neil Gardiner Maple and Cedar Build

Personally it's a little busy for me. But.....it's also a picture of just the headstock. It may tie in better with the rest of the guitar. I've seen similar headstocks look just fine before. So keeping the entire guitar in mind I think it will probably balance out just fine. In proportion to the completed instrument the headstock is not very big and is definitely smaller than the back inlay which looks fine against the large body of the instrument. One suggestion though, I think it would look much more complete if it were a bound headstock. Maybe?? Just to kinda frame it in.

I would go with black tuners, IF you decide to go with the peghead mosaic.
IMHO it is an overkill.

Maybe a maple neck and curly maple headstock overlay. You could always inlay some wood as position markers on the fb. Love the back.... Original. I could see the concept with geometric patterns all over the body inlaid like flying glass..

How about using that as the backstrap on the headstock? I think it would look really cool there. Or just run a strip of the mosaic up the center of the front of the head stock. I like the idea of figured maple on the front.

I think at most 5-6 pieces for the headstock. Maybe one larger piece and a few filling in to accent.

Neil,
I think it's too much, maybe cut your logo "G" in the material.
