'Coming Around Again/Itsy Bitsy Spider' (Carole King). It sounds nice when I do the keyboard part with my pinky on the C string as I pluck the chord bass strings.
'Hotel California' (The Eagles). This one provides good practice for barre chords and changes to open chords. 'Tears In Heaven' (Eric Clapton). This one provides good practice for slides on the upper frets of the treble strings. 'Behind Blue Eyes' "Knocking On Heaven's Door' Runner up: 'House of the Rising Sun' (my version)

Right! 'The Man Comes Around' ... beautiful acoustic sound at the start of each chorus. I play the 'C' on the 8th fret then drop down to the open strings when the chorus starts.

Anything that originated out of Texas, specifically the state of West Texas, including Townes, Joe Ely, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff, Waylon, Lyle, Tommy Hancock, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dale Gilmore, Steve Earle, as well as the Bakersfield boys, Merle and Buck.
I too will refrain from commenting about the definition of today's "country music." |

What about Taylor Swift's "Love Story"?
Yeah, I know! But my girlfriend coerced me into learning it for her to sing
