Default What are the dimensions of Martin saddles?

I'm getting a new saddle done by a luthier (ordered online) for my OM-28 and he's asking me the dimensions, specifically the length and width of the saddle, so that it fits well once I drop it in my guitar. I was wondering if anyone here has these measurements registered, I'm still very clumsy with measurement tools and wouldn't want to give wrong numbers.

Why not send him the existing saddle and get him to copy it?

Always assuming you have more than one guitar, of course . . .

Sound advise and the route I'd suggest also. Only way to get it right the first time if you're not confident using precision measuring tools.

My three Martins are all supposed to have 3/32 (.093) saddles, but they measure .086, .101 and .106. There's a VG chance the saddle thickness on another OM is not the same as yours.

a fine plan.

actually i wouldn't even make one for somebody unless i had the guitar in hand. if the saddle needs comp., it's best to have the guitar and do things right -including going over the set up. (imo).
