Todd, he's not smiling on the course. He is laughing at his score.

I dunno, I've seen a few big grins! When you hit a 3 wood 260 yds over top of a 60 foot tree 180 yds down the fairway you HAVE to smile!

Although I will say I think I was more excited than he was!

Update!

Macassar Ebony / maple / ebony binding is bent and ready for action!

I can not comprehend the amount of skill and love that goes into building each and every single McKnight guitar. Tim prepping the cutaway for binding.

Now the the glue is dried on the wedge, it is time to trim and prep for binding

The detail and alignment of the binding is amazing to see.

Subtle maple accent. Really wanted the wood to shine. ZIRICOTE!

Continued!

Making sure and angle is a perfect fit.

I can stare at the back and sides for hours... no joke. hours.

I wonder what Tim is thinking here.....

Binding is on the guitar... just waiting for the glue to dry and then everything will be sanded down to the appropriate levels.

Great shot of the Manzer Wedge shape - will be so comfortable to play.

I am loving this build! In fact - and this isn't the first time I've felt this way - I'm envious! You are going to love this guitar once it's in your hands!

By the way, I'm loving the high contrast but subdued hues of the woods. It's very artsy in graphite and charcoal on slightly aged parchment paper kind of way.

He's actually giving a quiet THANK YOU for getting him through the binding process one more time, phew! Its my least favorite task in building and one that I dread (no pun intended because this is an OM) each and every time. Its a process that separates the men from the boys because there is absolutely NO room for error.

Players don't often see everything that is involved behind the scenes in building or the upsets and setbacks that builders go through. For example this is the SECOND set of bindings because the first ones were cracked when they came out of the bender. arrrgggghhhh! Some woods just don't like to bend and they have a personality all their own and sometimes they have to be coaxed into their final resting place with lots of clamps.

I would like to see McKnight guitar family, friends and customers who plan to go to the Woodstock show later this month to wear their McKnight Guitar shirts so we can find you easier. Kenny might like to recognize you, too.

Will we see you there, Neil(Kwakatak)?

Yea, but she isn't smiling this time!

I smiled today, too.

Quick update for everyone! I'm getting more and more anxious every time I see pictures from Mary. Binding is on. Edges have been planed. guitar has been sanded. Now it's time for the neck!

Time to spend some time sanding down the sides

More time spent with the router

Love this shot...

And some more sanding...
