Default have you ever quit a forum?

i have, the fender forum. one particular "gentleman" was upset that i was asking too many questions in trying to find out what was wrong with my fender amp. it got so nasty, i quit. the other people were very helpful, just like the AGF, but i couldn't take his responses any longer.

play music!

Not quit, exactly, but I've been a member of some forums where I eventually decided never to visit again, and haven't. The whole posting an "I'm outta here" thread seems a little silly to me.

I've been on a number of forums over the years, ranging from motorcycles, cars, firearms, and most recently guitar forums.

I've never "quit" a forum, or announced my displeasure with one on my way out...

I just don't log in there anymore...

Easy Peasy...

I had many forums where I've never posted, lost my interest and not gone back. I've never actually tried to delete an account.

I've never quit a forum. Usually I just lose interest and stop visiting. If a problematic member was giving me an inordinate amount of grief in an otherwise pleasant environment, I'd just put them on my ignore list and not have to see them again.

A lot of time people like that on forums are hiding behind their keyboard and probably need to get a life. Don't let them get to you.

I quite a bicycle forum where I was a Mod - but it was because I was no longer interested in cycling and it felt odd to moderate when I was no longer interested in the subject. I was in a position where it would have been inappropriate to just leave without saying anything, because I was on the staff.

Ironically in the months since then, I've begun bicycling again lol

The only one that I quit was The Fret because they really dissed my vid clip with no constructive criticism at all.I have a pretty thick skin but I was seriously pissed!

Naw... Like others, I've lost interest and stopped going, or just lessened my visits. But never up and "Quit!" Too dramatic.

I don't have Blueridge guitars any more and kinda stopped going to that forum.

The S&W forum is a specialty thing that I visit once in a while, but not too actively any more, even though I still have plenty of S&W's.

The Wharf thing was just something to join to see what it was about, which was mostly a two man dog & pony show spouting platitudes.

I go to the Tele forum and the Pedal Steel forum when I need specific info.

But here and the UMGF are the only places I'm particularly active. Both places have predominantly very nice & knowledgable folks with a few knuckleheads and a very few real certifiable nuts, but that is how life is off the forums, too, so what the heck, eh?

You have to admit that this forum is much better than most. The mods are right on top of any non sense here that violates the rules.

Yes, I recently quit a pretty good fishing forum because of lots of strong racial remarks left unchecked by the moderators. My feelings were the mods were likeminded.
That's no place for this kid to hang around.

Yes, I departed The Soundhole many years ago because of one racist/anti-semitic member, who was mostly-tolerated by the majority of the membership...but it was simply an intolerable situation for me.

I have stopped going to some but I never posted a farewell address or anything. Stopped going to Mandolin Cafe when a moderator sent me a note objecting to my opinion of Gibson planning to produce mandolin under the Flatiron name in China. His response was particularly moronic so I just stopped going.

Gave up on the Walther Forum once I got sick of hearing "they ain't like they used to be" about 1000 times. And I had one of the ones that "was like they used to be". The type of fan that would be satisfied for the company to go out of business trying to sell the product at $4000 a copy.
