Workshops * Six options

Interactive Workshop.
Limited to a small group, this will be tailored to the participants, with time for questions. Open to all levels. Muriel ‘s friendships with Chet Atkins, Les Paul, Christopher Parkening and many other great musicians have found their way into her music, and she shares the insights and techniques they have so generously offered. You may also learn Muriel’s cross-string and harmonic techniques for her original style on guitar and harp-guitar. This workshop will offer inspiration for beginners as well as new ideas for advanced players. Upon request, may include a free set of signature GHS strings for each participant.

50 Right Hand Techniques and 1 Left Hand One
Based on Muriel Anderson’s course “50 Right-Hand Techniques” it covers material in the course and them some. Truly for all levels of players, it presents the most efficient use of the right hand as well as some interesting ways to bring expression into your music and to help you find fresh and exciting accompaniments, solos and compositions. This workshop will range from fingerstyle to classical to flatpicking techniques, and even some that Muriel has created herself.

Arranging for Fingerstyle Guitar
Cool ways to arrange tunes based on her Essentials course “Arranging in the key of D,” tiered for easy-intermediate through advanced-intermediate, as well as some tasty tid bits for the more advanced player. OK to record the workshop if you like.

1-2-3 Fingerstyle
Based on Muriel’s new course, 1-2-3 Fingerstyle Guitar is designed for players who are ready to throw down that pick for a while to finally get a handle on fingerstyle. This workshop presents presents a way to get at the heart of the music, without being bogged down working through a ton of remedial instruction. You’ll find the left-hand side of things very familiar and accessible. You’ll dive right into developing that finger/thumb independence on the right-hand, and to get going playing cool and authentic sounding fingerstyle tunes and riffs.

Making the most of your time with the guitar.
Muriel will cover technique, arranging, interpretation and inspiration. There will be time for individual questions from the audience also. She will intersperse performance with discussion. Every participant will have the opportunity to ask questions, to explore techniques for arranging, better playing and musicianship, inspirations behind compositions and her approach to music. Muriel will also have some new hands-on techniques, riffs, or tunes to teach. Handouts will be provided, open to guitarists of all levels. OK to record the workshop if you like.

Fun and Flashy Fingerstyle (Intermediate)
Learn to play cool and easy fingerstyle solos in the style of Merle Travis, Chet Atkins, Paul Simon, with Muriel’s sense of finesse and style. OK to record the workshop if you like.

So how was it? I'm really interested in going to this next year with a little pre planning. Are you likely to do it again?
