I love my Loar LH350. It's probably the best current deal on a new archtop.

I went shopping for an archtop about 2 years ago. I thought Gretcsh, Eastman, Loar, and Washburn all made pretty good guitars for under $1000.00.

I managed to scrape together a little more cash and bought a Guild. It was a better fit for my hands.

I am a life long acoustic fingerpicker and have never been comfortable with electric guitars.

That, however, changed when I recently bought (because I liked the look of it!!) an Ibanez hollow body AG95 online.
Wow, I love it!
The guitar is not too big, more Gibson ES339 sized than ES335, and has a sweet tone.
It's spot on for fingerpicking as I never ever use a plectrum.
I have put flatwound 12's on it and ordered an ebony wooden bridge to see if I can get a bit more of a woody tone to the guitar.
It's great for a sort of rockabilly, jazzy, blues type of thing.

My Collings 0002H is having some serious competition with my new acquisition!

Sounds good. How well do the flat wound strings sound on it with finger picking? I need to check out this particular Ibanez guitar.

Frankie,
I'll let Blind Connie Williams answer the question for you:

https://youtu.be/0_jT1T81dIs

You should be able to find something comparable for way less than 1K.

Learning how to play it like Connie Williams?

Priceless.
