Default Stripping A/E guitar of E..

If I remove the electronics from an A/E, what can I use to cover the hole in the side?? Anyone ever done such a thing??

Pickup removal may require a new or shimmed saddle, correct??

If the "E" is a Fishman Prefix or Prefix Plus & you want to sell,
drop me an email.

Sorry, not a Fishman.. It's an Artec. I'm eyeballing a geetar on Ebay that has it.

I really should stay away from Ebay! It's like an addiction with me..

Why are you stripping out the Artec? I have an Artec in one of my acoustics and I'm pretty impressed with it overall. Nice versatility, and it's one of the few that actually improves the sound of the guitar it's in.

Valid question and was wondering when it would be asked..

I don't need amplification because I play only to entertain myself at home. If I want amping, I have an A/E for that, but I never plug it in. This would be my new bang around guitar. Take a look.

Depending on price, I may go for it. Might leave the "E" in. Who knows.. It was just a thought. Unless the jack plate on this guitar had to be mounted on front as it is, the guitar is already butchered IMO and no telling what kinda installation the "E" has. As I said, it depends on price.

Well, I don't think you're going to be too happy when you pull that plate off the front of the guitar. I'd say if you buy it, leave the electronics intact...but if you really don't want an a/e guitar, maybe you should keep looking.

What a butcher job by the installer...definitely the second-worst pickup install I've ever seen.

The worst? This one. Nice place for a jack.

Hank-

Based on our e-mail on the 414ce you were looking at a few weeks ago, I thought I'd pass this along. Knowing you're more interested in a dread, I thought this might be something worth considering...

Sorry, I have no experience "de-Eing" a guitar...

Cheers!

New Saddle can be ordered through your Taylor dealer. Contact CaptBill and see what he can whip up in some inlayed wood to fill the hole???? It would certainly look cool.

Yep, thanks trpullen, but it's a dreaded Ibanez.

I've been outbid.

I was gonna remove the jackplate and apply a Harley decal. For the hole in the side I was thinking about putting on a cupholder and ashtray.
