Default I think I died and went to heaven

I was just browsing around Toby Walker's website, checking out the lessons and I stumbled on Toby's video of "Hideaway" by Freddie King. Here's the link to the video.

Hideaway:

Completely insane!

So I had to buy it. There's quite a few videos of how to play it and the associated tab of course. This song has licks in it that are outrageous and can be carried over to my every day noodling once I learn it. I have to finish a few other things, but there is no reason why I can't get started on the exercises Toby provides in the lesson package.

I have that lesson along with quite a few others. I really like his style, price is right and the combo video and pdf are first rate. Check out his lesson for "Deep river blues" and "Norwegian Wood", both excellent.

Holy crap, that was good.

That guitar is way too shiny to play the blues on, though.

Absolutely unreal!

I enjoyed that as much as any solo acoustic performance I've ever heard.

That is so far beyond my ability to emulate I find little inspiration in the performance.

I have been aware of Toby's talent for some time but he has just earned a new fan.

I have DRB. I'm having a great time with it, I should have a decent recording of it soon.

I ordered this lesson after hearing the first turnaround! Toby is such a treasure on this forum. He's so approachable in the digital realm. The PM's and emails I have received from him made me feel like we've been friends for years. I have yet to watch another instructor with the thoroughness and enthusiasm Toby has for teaching. I would literally drive him crazy if I were fortunate enough to have him as a neighbor. Now that my wife and I are both retired and dragging an rv all over the country with a Ford diesel beast truck I entertain a fantasy of running into him at an rv park. Until then, as a member of his site my playing is getting better exponentially.

His videos are excellent. There are so many "gems" in Hideaway that are cool just by themselves.

What a great solo version of that classic tune! Nice job, Toby!
