A lot of sellers proclaim Gibson made, such as original Kalamazoo brands etc.

I don't know much about them but if they were as good as a Gibson, then Gibson would surely put Gibson on the headstock.

It look slike a nice guitar at a great price. Just don't let the seller oversell it.

Gibson made several brands for other companies during the era. Gibson constructed them to a companies specs, and put the companies name on it.

Manufacturers still do this today.

Does it make it as good as a Gibson? Not necessarily, but it distinguishes the guitar from the more budget archtops of the day the Regal/Harmony ones.

I have both a 1937 Gibson archtop, and a Kalamazoo(Gibson) archtop both are the same model except for a binding/pickguard difference. In a blind test you couldn't tell them apart. If I covered just the headstock you still couldn't. When I compare the quality of these to a similar Harmony model I own the Harmony feels like a toy.

Edit; Only the Gibsons of the era will have a truss rod.

Is this one built by Gibson? Heck if I know.

The only problem is that the guitar pictured in that listing is a Kay, not any of the Gibson "off-brands" like Kalamazoo, Carson J. Robinson, etc. The shape of the body and the f-holes is a dead giveaway, distinctly Kay.
