Glenn,
Very nice sir !! I like covers that are recognizable yet not exact clones of the original, more interesting to me and not immediately critically compared note for note to the artist original. Clean vocals, nice arrangement.....well done...

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and comment! It means a lot coming from someone with your vast experience with music and performing. It is true that I like to do covers that are recognizable but not attempts to make complete duplicates. For example, I have always liked James Taylor's covers. You know whose song he is singing, but you also know it's James Taylor. It's his take on that song. I have always taken this approach since I was good enough to sing in public back at about age 18. Thanks so much for your comments Rich! - Glenn

Glenn, I've been enjoying your renditions Jim Croce's songs for many years now.
This is such a nice recording. Judging by the way you still sound like a 20-year old, I suppose you were never a heavy smoker... |

Thank you very much for your comments! Man, if you think I sound like a 20-year-old, all I can say is THANK YOU! However, as a 20-year-old, I had just a little more agility in my voice than I do now, but all things considered, I am very fortunate that I can still sing reasonably close to the required pitch with reasonably good tone. You are right; I was never a smoker. I certainly breathed a lot of 2nd-hand smoke in the 1970s when I first got out into the working world, and it seemed that everyone was smoking but me. But breathing 2nd hand smoke is never going to be as bad for you as breathing 1st-hand smoke. I am about the same age as James Taylor within just a few weeks. He can still sing pretty well, though when I heard him live a few years ago, I noticed that it took him a few songs to really get his voice warmed up. Same for me. Those vocal cords have to be loosened up before they really work the way you want them to. But a key to being able to sing as we get older is to keep doing it. Joan Baez still sings and does vocal exercises every day, and she is older than I am by a fair amount (she is 76). Also, I have generally not abused my voice over the years. I don't strain it, I don't yell myself hoarse at sporting events. I've always been mindful that I want to be able to keep singing, something I have really loved doing since I was about 11 or 12 years old when I first heard the Everly Brothers. Thanks again for your comments, Mau. I have so much enjoyed your music over the years! - Glenn
