Default P/U's for a Gretsch G6121-1955

Anyone know of some drop in P/U's that would give me a closer sound to a standard strat Gilmore/Knopfler sound? If not direct drop-ins a small amount of fitting wold be acceptable.

Why not just save your bucks, buy a MIM Strat, and leave the Gretsch alone...?

Replacing the Filtertron pickups (assuming that's what they are) on your Gretsch with single coil DeArmonds I suspect will be costly and in the end, mostly futile is my opinion.

A good reason to get yourself another guitar (Stratocaster) because you can never have too many guitars.

They're DeArmond Dynasonics in the '55, S&W: plenty of treble on tap, could probably EQ out some of the mids/bass at the amp to give it more of a Fender sound - but as we both said if that's what you want why not just get a Strat, appreciate the Gretsch for what it is, and leave it alone...

Thanks all! I don't see any changes in the foreseeable future but if I do I'll keep ya'll updated. There's nothing wrong with the current pick-ups, it's just that most of the stuff I like to play was recorded on Strats (Gilmore/Knopfler/Vaughn/etc.). I have no need or desire for another guitar so adding a Strat is not an option. If worse comes to worse I could trade the Gretsch for something with "the sound" but I like the feel of the 6121 a lot.
