Composite Acoustic OX or Rainsong Concert Hybrid OM ?
Which one would you choose if you want a "000/OM" CF guitar with no electronics ? Street price looks like it's almost the same for both guitars. I understand that scale length is different, 25.5 for CA, a bit shorter for Rainsong, but I would be comfortable with both.

I tend to agree with John in trying to match wood to CF. IMHO The best approximation is CA to Martin in terms of warmth and Rainsong to Taylor for articulation... but your mileage may vary...

The hybrid H-OM1000N2 might be closer to a Martin than the Concert topped guitars. It can be custom ordered without the pickup.

I've owned both and here are my thoughts;although the Rainsong was a few years back at this point...
The build quality and factory setup on both instruments was excellent. The CA ox has more low end than the Rainsong and has a bit more volume. I prefer the slightly longer scale length but this is all personal preference. Not that I would really compare a cf guitar to a wooden guitar directly, however, the first thing that popped into my mind when I strummed my ox was oh neat! this sounds like an om Martin crossed with some clarity and high end from a Taylor. The Rainsong sounds very nice as well but I didn't have that initial thought of oh, this reminds me of "fill in the blank" traditional wooden guitar.

couple of thoughts
don't know about the OX.....but I do know that a RS concert 12 fret OM sounds really good especially with Thomastik Enfield Plectrum strings (I'm a broken record on that one). My friend has one an I play it from time to time. I'm a bit of a martin guy because I like the way they feel and sound. I've found my RS parlor to be comparable when finger picked. Playing with a pick brings out the brightness of the CF. When I use a pick I prefer my Martin's, finger picking it doesn't matter much. I was playin with some people last summer outside. They all had woodies of various flavors, one a high end taylor. I had my RS parlor. We were all playing with picks. after it was over a guy came over and marveled about the RS. Said it was one of the "best" sounding guitars he'd ever heard. Not sure why...maybe the clarity riding over the others. So I guess from 15 feet away it sounded really good.
