Default Romeo & Juliet Mark Knopfler on guitar

Been in lessons a couple years. I've looked at Justin's intro (but I'm unsure on the chord changes/repeating the pattern) and a few off the ultimateguitar.com app. I'm having a heck of a time making the fingerpicking sound right, but I want to dig in and get this one tight. Some are alt tuning capo 3 and others are capo 5. So far

Any help on the fingerpicking pattern and a suggested tab would be much appreciated.

The original is in open G tuning with capo on 3.

Here's tab for the intro, which is basically the same 2-bar loop, played 4 times, with variations. (Capo fret counts as 0.)
Code:
d|-4-----------4-----------2------|0-----------0---------------2--|
b|---------3-------------------2--|--------0-------0---0---2h3----|
g|-------2-------2-----2-----2----|------0-------0-----0----------|
D|-----4---------------4----------|----0-----------0--------------|
G|-----------------2-------2------|------------------------2------|
D|-0------------------------------|-------------------------------|
   1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 1 . 2 . 3 . 4 .
.
d|-4-----------4-------------4----|0-----------0-------0----------|
b|---------3---------------3-----2|0-------0-----------0-------2--|
g|-------2-------2-------2--------|------0-------0-----0-------2--|
D|-----4---4-----------4------p2--|----5-----------5---0---2------|
G|-------------------2-----2------|------------------------2------|
D|-0---------------0--------------|-------------------------------|
   1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 1 . 2 . 3 . 4 .
.
d|-4-----------4-----------2------|0-----------0-------0---4---2--|
b|---------3-------------3-----2--|0-------0-----------0----------|
g|-------2-------2-----2-----2----|0-----0-------0-------0--------|
D|-----4---4-----------4----------|0---0-----------0--------------|
G|-------------------------2------|------------------------2------|
D|-0---------------0--------------|-------------------------------|
   1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 1 . 2 . 3 . 4 .
.
d|-4-----------4-------------4p2--|0-----------0-------0----------|
b|---------3---3-----------3-----2|0-------0-----------0------(2)-|
g|-------2-----2---------2--------|------0-------0-----0------(2)-|
D|-----4---4---4-------4----------|----5-----------5---0--(2)-----|
G|-------------------2------------|-----------------------(2)-----|
D|-0---------------0--------------|-------------------------------|
   1 . 2 . 3 . 4 . 1 . 2 . 3 . 4 .
The 6-string arpeggios are played with thumb on strings 6-5-4, and index-middle-ring on strings 3-2-1.
The 2nd fret barres in bars 4 and 8 are semi-strummed, as are a few of the open chords.
