Default New Pedal Day- BOSS Fender '63 Reverb...

supposed to make an amp sound like a 1963 Fender Reverb amp, I bought it for my Supro Dual Tone which has no reverb....

Here's a demo video of it....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joUJ9ai7jdo

I bought it used off of reverb.com.

I've heard good things about these pedals and was tempted to get the Deluxe Reverb model which also simulated the amp's character as well as its Reverb tank. In the end I got the TC HoF pedal which does all sorts of great reverbs and for now stick with my Vox and Duncan tube amps.

Let us know how you get on - I guess they didn't sell too well or Boss wouldn't have stopped making them (either that or they stopped having an agreement with Fender to make them).

Well it's a specialized pedal meaning it only does one trick, that is to make your amp sound like a Fender Reverb amp, nothing more nothing less. Yes I have heard that they stopped making them, but I'm thinking that makes them more of a rare bird, which may increase it's value over time. I didn't buy it as an investment though, I bought it to add reverb to my Supro Dual Tone amp. I already have a TC Hall of Fame Reverb, but for some reason it's just not what I want. There's just too many options with that one. The FRV is a just a plain simple spring reverb/tube amp emulation, which should sound great thru the Supro amp.

In the above demo I heard a few things I really liked, especially the last demo of the humbuckers thru it. There's one little instant that the player strums a muted strings sound with the reverb that nails the same sound in CSN's "Wooden Ships", that I really really like.

If you hunt around on You Tube, you'll find many demos of the FRV-1 pedal. It's scheduled for delivery on Friday...

Interesting pedal I was also hearing that early 60s surf reverb tone.
Pro Guitar Shop does really good demos, and his demo on the Supro Titan was definitely a factor in my purchase decision

Well I received the pedal today and tried it out with the Supro amp. It has a classic reverb sound to it. Just what I was hoping for. A little of the "Surf" sound, basic spring reverb without the spring banging noise. It's nice. I like it !!
