Default Eacgae

hi,
i've started to play guitar few months ago and i have a question connected with tunning my guitar from standart tunning to EACGAE. probably it is a dump question but i don't know how to change D into C...anyone can help me please? it is the first time i need to use this tunning.

well.. you know how on the A string, the 5th fret is the same as the D string?

try moving up to the 3rd fret (which will be 1 step lower, a C) and loosen the tuner on the D string till it matches this note.

Correct, except that C is actually one whole step lower than D. Each fret is a half step. But it still works, no matter what you call it!

hey bloomy, i would definitely recommend taking some lessons. get some good basics. it's been my experience that guitar playing is a lot like golf...if you develop bad habits now, they'll be murder to get rid of later.
