Default Birth of the Mojocaster™

It's been about 10 years since I built an electric solid body. I thought it might be fun to build a new design, and it was. Swamp ash body, curly hard maple and ebony neck, Peter Florance pickups. Jumbo EVO frets. Sounds great; plays like buttah.

That is lovely - I especially like the pickguard shape, and the position markers.

Interesting body shape. It is kind of a doublecut tele shape. Nice work.

Looks great Howard! I love the color of the headstock. Is that the natural color of the maple or is there a little vintage toner on it?

It's toned.

Thanks all! Any questions of a commercial nature should be emailed. I just came here for show and tell.

I don't know your motivation for this, but I like the fact that what I'm presuming are the volume and tone knobs are in front of the pickup selector. I believe on many telecaster type guitars it is the other way around. I would like a volume knob closer to the neck because it makes it easier to use volume swells with your right hand, where as when it is further away, your picking hand has to travel further and the technique is a bit more difficult...

Thank you for noticing! Yes, the volume knob is placed so you can hook your pinky around it and pick the upper strings at the same time.

I like it. That flamey ebony topped neck reminds me of my Starfield American guitar from the 90's. Very nice.

That looks to be another in a long line of "just really beautiful" instruments from Mr. Klepper!
