Default I put Lace Sensor pickups on my MIM Telecaster

Wow what a great difference !! More powerful, louder, richer tone....only took a couple hours to switch them. I had to run out and buy some solder and new guitar strings. Sounds like a million bucks now.

Interesting, I recently got a mim and I need to do a set up on it. Here's an offer for an easy set up complete with guard and pots, holy cow. My guy came with a bigsby(reason I bought it) need to make or buy a new nut and wonder if the $170 is a worthy upgrade? Sounds like youre saying yes. https://www.amazon.com/Fender-Teleca...Y15FEYDDK8E19N

Here's a quick recording, it really doesn't do the pickups justice though...this is the neck pick up only....

I had a few of those pickups, don't totally eliminate all hum but vastly better than most single coils. I really liked the tone as well, it is a little tough to figure out what "colour" is right for the sound you want!
They were featured on Strats & Teles back in the day until "The Big F" decided to launch their own brand of noise cancelling pickups that was only slightly different (and based on) the Lace Brand.
Phooey on them!

Here's a little better recording. The first half is the neck pickup and the second half is the bridge. I can't really wail because it's 3:00 in the morning here...neighbors ya know....

Oh yeah, Teles w/ Bigsbys are awesome. I have a CIJ '62 Custom Reissue with Lollar pickups (photo left). The Fender AVRI Hot Rod on the right has since been sold and replaced with an obscenely good Suhr Classic T Antique. That "Silent Single Coil" technology that Suhr has developed is a gamechanger. I guess I need to update this pic now....

I tried the Tele with the Lace Sensors into the Supra amp....sustain was incredible. A note or a chord would just ring and ring and ring out.....I'm loving these Lace Sensors pickups..... got a really nice grind out of them too....

I tried the Tele with the Lace Sensor pickups into the Marshall DSL 15 and Fender Super Champ X2....It sounded really good. Compared to the Gretsch it was about the same volume but sounded better than the Gretsch. The Tele is definitely my go to guitar now....

It sounds really good thru the Katana amp as well.

I haven't tried the Marshall Code 25 yet.

I'm a true believer in Lace Sensors.

I've got 3 Fender Strat Plus guitars loaded with them

2 have the original Gold Lace Sensors, and the other has the Blue/Silver/Red.

All 3 sound amazing. VERY quiet and very articulate sounding pickups.

I just picked up a '12 Fender Affinity Strat loaded with Hot Gold Lace Sensors in a pawnshop for $50.

I've got an '89 Strat that I picked up a few months ago that already has the TBX tone control.

I'm glad I finally discovered these awesome pickups.

I've got a Wayne's World Fender Squire Strat that I was going to put the Blue, silver, and red pickup set in to it but changed my mind. The Strat already has ceramic pickups in it modeled after the 1964 Pre CBS strat. I did a comparison and they sounded almost identical to the Lace Sensors in my Tele. So what would be the point in changing them out ??

I've always loved the idea of Lace Sensors (a silent, hot Strat pickup), but anytime I hear them, my ear is drawn back to that late-80s Eric Clapton tone (the intro to "Bad Love," for example). To my ears, clean they are chimey, but sound ever-so-slightly out of phase and the chime doesn't bite like a traditional single coil. And driven, they get honky, almost horn-like. It's tough to come up with adequate descriptors, but that's my personal experience. I guess I am more of traditionalist when it comes to Strat tone.
