I was wondering. If a person asks a question and tells you they are leaving and won't be around to read the answers to their question; does that constitute a Fake Question?

IMO, that is what the thread tells us. But maybe it doesn't tell us anything other than some folks like to come to AGF and make create posts.

I think by the time a thread gets to 13 pages, we've pretty much put aside the OP...

Generally speaking I have found that hobby/interest based forums and particularly those that are music related tend to promote ego and materialism and that means nastiness.

I think it's because we all see ourselves as special in our viewpoint of our own lives, and then we come to a place where everybody feels that way and then we have to do something to assert some higher level of specialness, whether it is realistic or not.

This forum is no exception. It's not the worst nor best.

Yes, but most who leave, including the OP, continue to lurk, so they do read the responses. They just don't want you to know they do. So see? They didn't really leave after all. Hint to all lurkers: If you want to lurk unnoticed, DON"T be logged in. BTW, let me be the first to say there is nothing wrong with lurking. I lurked for quite a while over at the UMGF years ago when they booted me out of there for telling the mod with the God complex where to stick it.

I agree and I regret it because it was definitely out of character for me. But man that dude had it in for me and several others on that forum and he pushed my button one day and that was it for me. I would never do that here on the AGF, the folks here are too nice and so are the mods. "Be Nice." Darn right.
