Default Yamaha serial number DOB?

Is there a way to look up a Yamaha classical date of manufacture using the serial number?

Like a customer relations email I've seen with other manufacturers.

Went to Yamaha’s home page, and there was a form to fill out.

Had to register (didn’t give my phone number...), and got a reply right away.

My classical G-160 was made between 1967 and 1969, has a solid pine top (looks like cedar to me, which is a technically a pine), laminated rosewood B&S, mahogany neck with RW FB and bridge.

MSRP when new was ~$100 (decent amount in late 60’s). Great deal for $25 OTD in mid 90’s!
