Epiphone Emperor Regent (Peerless)
I've had this one for a while and have looked around a bit not finding much information regarding the color. It's a 1996 model Peerless Plant. I think they still make the blondes, and I've seen some sunbursts. Just curious if anyone knows how many different colors were available then.
This one is a purple metal flake. Last edited by Dreaming; 05-31-2016 at 03:07 PM. |

Unfortunately Epiphone discontinued them several years ago - right about the time they went over wholesale to Chinese production - and you're right about the blondes being the last ones produced, the sunburst having been dropped from the line a couple years earlier. Although burst and blonde were standard, I've also seen them in black (classy, like a giant LP Custom), cherry (that's one they should have made a standard item - sweet!), silver metalflake, and gold metalflake; the purple flake is a new one on me, but hey - you learn something every day...

Thanks Steve for the info. I just realized the pix didn't work so I reposted them.
Purpleish, Mauvish, maybe. Plays very nicely with great tone. |

I can't answer your question, but I have to say, that's a sweet looking guitar.
Those Peerless made Emperor Regents have been seen at some very high profile shows. In fact, BB King's second guitarist used to play one. I opened for Taj Mahal a few years back and it looked like he was playing one as well. If I didn't have a great 51 New York Epiphone I'd be looking for one of those myself. |
