As for the thread start....how many of us would wish to be playing this cleanly at age 72?

I can't believe no one has listed the absolutely most common answer...
I have no actual knowledge/experience about the question your're asking but this how I would handle it/what I believe the issue is etc. etc. |

Oh yeah...and it doesn't matter that the OP's asking for advice on a parlor guitar for less than $500

(I'm just surprised it took to post #29 to get to, "Humidify!")
to add, . . . but it's good for acoustic blues and Americana music. f-d

Stephen Stills? The correct answer of course is Tommy. No last name needed.

Any discussion of Tommy should start and end with Joseph II's admonishment to Wolfgang after first hearing The Abduction From The Seraglio.

These truths have been in circulation for a few years now, clues about the coming of the end of an era, and are a big part in the backslide in the interest to even open up those threads anymore. We've eclipsed the short reach notions like bridge pin material, head stock mass, coated strings, finish types and sound ports impacting sound and moved on to other notions that reach a bit further into the imagination to conjure up like tightness of grain, run-out, roasted woods and quite possibly that little old lady walking down the street at 3:00 pm every day, etc. Okay, maybe it's actually 3:10 pm but dang-it she hums to herself and throws off the melodic groove. Then, once the additional half-baked notions are put to bed there will be others waiting in distant orbits to reel in for new forum speak. But, someone will come along and invent a gadget to right all wayward tone. Then, there will be no more need of the various opinions about a sonic tonic anymore if all tone is right.
