Me too. I was on atenolol for years but my Dr though my cold hands/fingers were not a good sign. Was on Lisinopril for about a month and had the cough and I felt kind of jumpy/edgy. He put me on amlodipine and I'm fine, though the bp is higher than when I was on atenolol.

Nah. Old is when you have open heart surgery, prostate surgery three months later, and then you're on B/P meds. Nah. Come to think of it, I still don't feel old. Played a rock n roll gig last weekend.

The colonoscopy itself was ok, I asked for and got extra meds,
so I was in la-la land the whole time.

yes the stuff they put in the IV tube that is affixed to your hand. They told me some people said it burned a little so I thought , what the heck, I've had way worse than this (and I have).

The best way I can explain it is how I explained it to my wife.

It felt like I had just been stung by 2 bumble bees at the same time on top of the hand. I know how that feels because I was stung by two bumble bees at the same time. One right on top of the head and the other was on the top of my hand. Let me tell you, it hurt. And I'm pretty tough, but it still hurt.

And yes, the day before was a crap shoot for sure.

Skipping the meds would tend to minimize any further aging.

I'm not old (58). My wife says I will be officially old on the day one of my granddaughters puts her hand in mine and says "granddad can you....". Both are just toddlers at the moment but will start speaking within months. So it looks like I will be old before I'm 59. I did say to my kids I want to be an active granddad so not to leave it too late to have their own children seems they took me at my word.

Sounds like whomever was doing the anesthetic wasn't very good.

.
As part of the induction? That was Propofol and yes, some people don't notice it at all. However, I mixed it with lidocaine when I could and gave some fentanyl a couple of minutes before, which seemed to help.

I hear ya bro. I'm 66 and can barely walk anymore. Looks like a hip replacement in my future soon.

I'm 69, and still doing pretty well. I got stents about 10 years ago and not a twinge since. A knee that will likely need replacement in a year or two.

Pretty decent otherwise...No arthritis/hand problems. My playing facility is unaffected.

The other day, I listened to a segment on NPR's To The Best Of Our Knowledge.... Titled "74 is the new 24".
First interview was with Georgio Moroder, who many will remember as "the father of disco" back in the 70s. Still going strong with a new album and still DJ-ing in the clubs

I was out of the car when the second interview started so I didn't catch the name.... Female vocalist from the Folk Revival period who likewise has just released a new album of rather heavy rock material but still "socially" oriented.

Buffy St. Marie. Still going strong at 75. Cool.

No, you're old when the blood pressure meds you're taking make you feel like you need to take a nap every day.
