Please provide some playing, singing, recording tips as I'm a beginner at all three. I firmly believe these contests and recordings have helped me improve. Thanks!
You are doing very well for a beginner, on all fronts. For your voice you should work on proper support and breathing from your diaphragm. I wrote out a whole bunch of instructions for someone else here, if you are interested I'll find it and give you the link. when you get your breathing and support right, everything else falls into place beautifully. You have a very nice voice so I think you will get great results.

Thank you! I would love a link with some instruction, that would help a ton!

By the way, how does one embed a Youtube video here? Just adding the embed info didn't work.
You did a great great job on this beautiful song man. Really appreciated

[QUOTE=g6120;4030042]This is a collaboration with Sonya and Shuie (misspopanoche)
I sent them my raw microphone recording and they upholstered it with their Buffalo magic as follows:
Sonya did the 'morse' electric dub on her Les Paul copy, the handclaps and the high harmony.
Shuie played the Fenderbass, lead guitar and sang low harmony. He also put an extra high harmony on the final chorus.

Very Nice and thanks for sharing! I love the song and your group definitely captured the groove of the original

I listened to my recording again this morning with "fresh ears" and I can definitely hear what you are saying. I certainly need some work in this area.

Thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge.

Some really fine renditions of a lot of great tunes here, folks! AND, some real chestnuts, along with some of the more "standard" 60's fare!

I have enjoyed hearing these songs... among others, Bob, I liked the banjo-straightforward groove of "I've Just Seen A Face"; Rolli, a fine job on "He Ain't Heavy...", your guitar sounds heavenly! Warren, that is one of my favorite Moody Blues records, as well, really a "flash from the past" with those songs...

Dave, nice job on "Go and Say Goodbye"... the Springfield were SUCH a seminal band for me; I was heart broken when they split up, but thrilled (of course) with ALL the amazing music that has poured forth from those main members of the band.

Makes me very happy to hear folks doing some of Gram Parson's songs! He was such a talented singer and songwriter, and he died foolishly and far too soon, as so many other "great ones' did. Paul, I thought I was the only person who still played "Brass Buttons"! Not sure if it was actually written in the '60's, but hey! Who cares? It is such a good tune, that one...

Thanks so much to everyone for all the effort and love that goes into doing these recordings... what a great thread this is!

Now, I just have to get off my butt and put in my own contributions... I'll try to surprise at least a few of you!

Really good work, folks, and thanks again!

My feeble attempt at Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell written by Jimmy Webb in 1968, and released that same year.

Thanks. I liked your version of Merle Haggard's Silver Wings as well. Here is a version of Chain Gang (Sam Cooke) with a friend who I jam with periodically; he's really got a great voice.

I will save YamaYairi the embarrassment of saying thank you but that was my recording. YamaYairi is far more talented than I and I'd hate for folks to miss that detail.

Wow, how embarrassing; my apologies to you both. That's what happens when I try posting songs while working. I enjoyed your tune RedJoker, as well as You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, YamiYairi.
