As you (and jumbo) know, a lot of that great early Deep Purple magic was made with Ritchie on that red 335. There's some great video circulating the interwebs of him playing it as well!

That's for sure Tom! He had a great sound on those first few Deep Purple albums!

I purchase this Epiphone/Gibson elite in 2005 and it exudes quality. It was manufactured in Japan and I understand that it had the Gibson fretboard and electronics. I am not knowledgeable enough to make comparisons with American made Les Paul Epiphones or Gibsons But colleagues that have played it could not differentiate and were amazed. I do believe that when overseas production moved from Japan to China,or wherever, that the product was not the same. The Japanese Elites were certainly a quality product.

Nice to see you are doing well after your defeat at the hands of Darth Sidious.

I have been on a hunt for a 335. I just didn't dig any of the ones I found out there. I started looking outside the Gibson line when I found this, the Gibson Memphis ES-335 Studio. Oddly enough, I think the reasons I like it over the others are the things that make it less like a Gibson and more like my Fender-design guitars like my Suhr. Maple Neck, Master Volume and Tone, as well as Soft Edges. "57 / '57+ humbuckers and it just really sounds awesome.

I haven't been online as much recently. I still pop in and read stuff. Just don't often respond.
