Default Alvarez MG70CE Grand Auditorium

What is up with the Alvarez MG70CE model anyway? There is literally no videos or reviews or talk on any forums about this Grand Auditorium with Sitka spruce top and the ad on GC/MF and from Alvarez state East Indian Rosewood back and sides. There is content out there on the MG60CE, mahogany back/side model but not this one. GC/MF show it back ordered. Anybody?

I know what you’re saying. I recently bought the cedar over rosewood version and found precious little about it on YouTube. They finally published a short sample of it the day after I ordered mine.

The head of Alvarez has put out a ton of videos, but they’re mostly endless talking and very few good sound samples of the instruments.

If it’s any help, I will say that the one I have is excellent and an incredible value. Just a great instrument once the action is dialed in and set up a bit. Mine came from Sweetwater.

I haven't seen much about the MG70, but I recently played a used MD60 and that was a surprisingly good guitar. If you told me it cost three times the price, I'd have believed it.

I just bought an AG60CE as a beater. Pretty solid guitar for the price. It's small enough not to take up a ton of room in the backseat but large enough where it works well with a pick.

Funny you mention this, I had the same thought when I was going between the 70 and 75CE Alvarez MGs.

I ended up going with the cedar topped and I'm very glad I did, and couldn't find any demos of the spruce model.

I'm also having similar difficulty finding any useful info about this nice Alvarez (MDA70CE) I played yesterday at "Guitarget." Sadly I was late and had to run so I didn't grab it on impulse. Guy on the phone told me today it's a 2015 "Anniversary" model.

Felt familiar, like one of my four current boxes.

Very pleasing to the hands and ears. And, despite my odd camera angle, a nice looking guitar too.

I have the MG710CE with walnut back and sides, great guitar for the price.
