Reverb isn't Craigslist. The transaction is routine, and the money is safe.

Next time, trust Reverb. It's as safe as any online shopping site. Again: They escrow your money!

His message:

Hello brother! Let me ask you… whats the faster way you can send the guitar?! I mean, I from Brazil and a friend of mine from kearny NJ will come to Brazil and bring the guitar to me. Can you help me get this guitar delivered before march 21st please?

Thanks
Jim
No. Do not do this. Something isn't right.

Or you could ship the guitar to someone other than the person who bought it. But everything would probably work out okay.

You made the right decision IMHO. I sell occasionally on Reverb and I would have absolutely declined this sale. I'd NEVER ship to someone other than the buyer. If they really wanted the deal, the NJ contact should be the buyer. At that point you're out of the picture and they can figure out getting paid back from his Brazilian buddy before or after hand delivering the guitar. The extra pressure put on you for speedy delivery is all the more suspicious. Good call.

If Reverb “almost always sides with the buyer” then the seller has a good reason to worry about scams

OP here. I did cancel the sale and I'm relieved I did. Never heard back from the potential "buyer" so take that as you will. I do appreciate ALL the input.
